Become an Instructor

Join the Ski Montcalm Snow School team and turn your passion for skiing or snowboarding into a job!

In addition to offering exceptional terrain for learning, our Snow School has distinguished itself through its innovative programs, earning an Excellence Award from the Association des stations de ski du Québec (ASSQ) for its Skier Development Program in 2025-2026. You’ll have the opportunity to grow as an instructor within a snow school recognized across the province.

As an instructor, you’ll work with students of all ages and ability levels, helping them progress and develop their technical skills in a fun and safe environment. At Ski Montcalm, you’ll be part of a dynamic and welcoming team while benefiting from ongoing training throughout the season.

Main Responsibilities

  • Teach skiing or snowboarding techniques according to each student’s ability level;
  • Adapt lessons to students’ ages, abilities and needs;
  • Ensure student’s safety during lessons;
  • Encourage students and help them progress;
  • Prepare lessons based on lesson objectives;
  • Complete progress reports and other required follow-ups;
  • Follow Snow School procedures and standards.

  • Be outgoing and enthusiastic with guests;
  • Be patient, responsible, punctual and reliable;
  • Be able to communicate in French.

Required Qualifications

Ski: Level 1 certification from the Canadian Ski Instructor’s Alliance (CSIA) or the Programme d’enseignement des sports de glisse (PESG).

Snowboard: Level 1 certification from the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) or the Programme d’enseignement des sports de glisse (PESG).

Interested in Becoming an Instructor?

You do not need to be certified when you apply. In collaboration with the respective associations, Ski Montcalm offers the required certification courses directly at the mountain:

  • CSIA Level 1 for ski instructors;
  • CASI Level 1 for snowboard instructors.

Level 1 certification courses offered at Ski Montcalm are available at a reduced rate for candidates who commit to working with our Snow School for at least one season.

The minimum age to obtain a Level 1 certification is 14 for skiing and 15 for snowboarding.

So, if you’d like to become an instructor, you can apply even if you haven’t earned your certification yet.

How to Get Started

1 — Submit your application.

2 — We’ll contact you by mid-September with all the information you need about the position and the Level 1 certification process.

3 — Complete and pass your Level 1 certification.
